Ways to Stay Dry This Spring

Apr 08 2021

The weather may feel like it’s warming up, but combined with Spring’s rain showers, you can quickly go from warm and dry, to cold and wet. In fact, one of the easiest ways to become hypothermic is by wearing the wrong clothing when you’ve become wet from the rain, and wind picks up - even in temperatures above freezing! Aside from the potential threats from being cold, being soaked from rain on the job for long periods of time is just uncomfortable, which can impact performance.

Last month, we reviewed some of our favorite respirators to keep safe. This month, it’s time to think about staying dry! Here is some of our favorite gear to keep the rain away, from head to toe:

Arctic Pro Muck Boot With Safety Toe
You don’t have to sacrifice safety to keep your feet dry. This boot has a fleece lining, is 100% waterproof and features a steel toe - perfect for jobsites outdoors in cooler, wet spring weather.

Rivery City Luminator™ Class 3 Rain Suit
With a jacket and pants, this rain suit will keep your clothing dry in inclement weather, and keep you visible to cars and other workers. This suit also comes with a detachable hood, and with take-up snaps at the wrists and ankles.

V-Gard Knit Cap Liner
When it’s raining and windy, having your head covered can make all of the difference. This cap liner fits perfectly under safety helmets, and makes a great addition to your jacket’s rain hood.

Welding Umbrella
Offering great protection from rain or sunlight, this umbrella features a lightweight aluminum frame and tilt mechanism. Its cover is made of fire retardant, rip-stop vinyl for water and tear resistance, too.

Shax® 6000 Heavy-Duty Commercial Pop-Up Tent
A versatile and durable instant shelter, this tent provides fast, long-lasting relief from the wind and rain. Made of rugged PU and UV-coated 300D polyester with a double vented top for maximum air flow, this tent will be comfortable in all conditions.
